The referendum would vote down the cost of children’s education, health

To the editor:

After much study and consider various options, my wife, two children and I moved to the city in 2009 of Vineland. We moved here for several reasons: low taxes, great schools, low crime rate, location, and general quality of life. This is the same reason as to why NJ monthly magazine rated the top cities in the top five places to live in New Jersey twice in four years.

Recently there has been some individuals who are outspoken against the progress of our school. Repairs will definitely cost us tax money, but I personally believe this is tax dollars well spent.

If we have a school district who fought like everyone else in the country that spent $190,000 million without any famous or effective performance improvement, people could argue spending money on certain repairs will spend “good money after bad.” In the case of this town is not so. We have great schools, teachers, students and administration.

Just take a moment to look beyond the “bubble” over the city to put it into perspective a bit. Apparently some local residents do not understand what we have here and we pay taxes are relatively low.

Compare some of the real estate data between the city and the old city. This information is available online via the Data universe and Monmouth County Tax Board:
